2: 14 Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace,
good will toward men.
all know this verse of Scripture. We read it every year at Christmas
time. But how much thought have we given this one sentence? What
does it mean to each of us and have we made it a part of our lives?
Our topic for this morning is “In The Highest!”
to God in the Highest!
- Magnificence, splendor, beauty, grandeur, brilliance, exaltation
– Credit, fame, praise, triumph, admiration, stardom
the Glory belongs to God! For He Alone is Worthy to be Praised!
Praised for Who He Is and Praised for the Great Things He has Done!
how do we Praise Him? How do we give Him the Glory?
means uppermost, maximum, peak, utmost, premier, supreme, ultimate,
record ( our praise should be a record High, break all records!)

the glory he deserves!
Bring your offering and come into his presence.

to God in the highest is pleasing to God!
On Earth Peace!
– harmony, reconciliation, end of war, calm, quiet, stillness
much time do we really think about peace on earth? And how much
effort do we give to making peace a reality in our lives?
45: 18 For
and he created the heavens and earth
and put everything in place.
He made the world to be lived in,
not to be a place of empty chaos.
“I am the Lord ,” he says,
“and there is no other.
– confusion, disorder, anarchy, disarray, turmoil, madness, mess
are we doing about the ‘chaos' in our world?
it is possible, as much as depends on you, live peaceably with all
if any are thinking, oh it's not possible for me. Think again! It
is possible for Jesus died to send us all the help we need.
14: 26 But
the Helper, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in My name,
He will teach you all things, and bring to your remembrance all
things that I said to you.
I leave with you, My peace I give to you; not as the world gives
do I give to you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it

Will Toward Men!
we Christians, people of good will? Since we've been saved have
we seen an increase in kindness, friendliness, helpfulness, generosity,
concern and care for others in our lives?
good will, a willingness to give, reach out to others in need.
Jesus said to him,
shall love the Lord
God with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your mind.'
is the first and great commandment.
the second is like it: ‘You shall love your neighbor
we willing to love others? Are we willing to love the unlovable?
you follow the desires of your sinful nature, the results are very
clear: sexual immorality, impurity, lustful pleasures,
20 idolatry, sorcery, hostility, quarreling,
jealousy, outbursts of anger, selfish ambition, dissension, division,
21 envy, drunkenness, wild parties,
and other sins like these. Let me tell you again, as I have before,
that anyone living that sort of life will not inherit the Kingdom
the Holy Spirit produces this kind of fruit in our lives: love,
joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness,
23 gentleness, and self-control. There is
no law against these things! 24 Those who
belong to Christ Jesus have nailed the passions and desires of their
sinful nature to his cross and crucified them there. 25
Since we are living by the Spirit, let us follow the Spirit's
leading in every part of our lives.
is giving! Goodwill is generosity! Goodwill shows love!
Corinthians 9: 6 Remember
this—a farmer who plants only a few seeds will get a small crop.
But the one who plants generously will get a generous crop.
7 You must each decide in your heart how
much to give. And don't give reluctantly or in response to pressure.
“For God loves a person who gives cheerfully.” 8
And God will generously provide all you need. Then you
will always have everything you need and plenty left over to share
with others. 9 As the Scriptures say,
share freely and give generously to the poor.
Their good deeds will be remembered forever.”
God is the one who provides seed for the farmer and then bread to
eat. In the same way, he will provide and increase your resources
and then produce a great harvest of generosity in you. 11
you will be enriched in every way so that you can always be generous.
And when we take your gifts to those who need them, they will thank
12 So two good things will result from this
ministry of giving—the needs of the believers in Jerusalem will
be met, and they will joyfully express their thanks to God. 13
a result of your ministry, they will give glory to God. For your
generosity to them and to all believers will prove that you are
obedient to the Good News of Christ.
14 And they will pray for you with deep affection
because of the overflowing grace God has given to you.
towards men gives Glory to God and is Pleasing to God!
can beat God's giving? Who can surpass God's generosity? No one!
But in 2018 we can pray to be more like Him and we can thank Him
more and give Him glory in the Highest by the way we live our lives!
unto you is born this day in the city of David a Saviour, which
is Christ the Lord. 12 And this shall be a sign unto you;
Ye shall find the babe wrapped in swaddling clothes, lying in a
manger. 13 And suddenly there was with the angel a multitude
of the heavenly host praising God, and saying, 14 Glory to
God in the highest, and on earth peace, good will toward men.
Be to God for His indescribable gift!
then, is what I pray, kneeling before the Father, from whom every
fatherhood, in heaven or on earth, takes its name. In the abundance
of his glory may he, through his Spirit, enable you to grow firm
in power with regard to your inner self, so that Christ may live
in your hearts through faith, and then, planted in love and built
on love, with all God's holy people you will have the strength to
grasp the breadth and the length, the height and the depth; so that,
knowing the love of Christ, which is beyond knowledge, you may be
filled with the utter fullness of God. Glory be to him whose power,
working in us, can do infinitely more than we can ask or imagine;
glory be to him from generation to generation in the Church and
in Christ Jesus forever and ever. Amen. Ephesians 3:14-21
